Website for Women and Lovers

May 6, 2002

Dear Street Doctor,

I have been logging on to your website for some time now, Street Doctor, and the same warped view on relationships is always there.  I certainly hope this point of view is yours alone, or at least, a point of view held by very few men.  The attitude reflected on this website towards love and relationships is very sad and discouraging.  What if more men shared this point of view?  Who would have written some of the most famous love poems, songs, what about the paintings?

I have been thinking since last Thursday, May 2, that now is the time for a different point of view.  A woman's point of view.  Perhaps another website would be in order.  I can see it now.  The background would always be hot pink adorned with lots of roses.  Immediately after logging on, the theme from Gone with the Wind would play constantly.  Single women and single men would be welcomed to this website called, Forever Young, The Love Connection.  It would also welcome happily married couples as well as happily "coupled" couples to log on and share their success stories in their relationships.  There would be a definite mood of encouragement and hope to the singles that they too might find someone to be happy with.  Yes, a definite dating service for the singles.

Since this would probably be targeted to those over 40, there would be frank discussions offered on any subject that might need to be addressed discreetly.  There are challenges sometimes as we get older, and we have to find the answers somewhere.  More about that later.

I would be interested in hearing from your members on this different point of view, Street Doctor.  Maybe others are interested in all those "terrible" things:  emotions, relationships, love, commitment, trust, intimacy, loyalty, togetherness and yes, CLUTTER!

Okay, the website doesn't have to be hot pink, and I can select another song besides the theme from Gone With the Wind, but you get my drift, huh, Street Doctor?

As always,
Sophie Goldberg

P.S. I dare you to print this!

Dear Sophie,

Thank you again for taking time to share your thoughts.

My views (The Street Doctor's) have been learned by countless years of "research" and self-experiences on "Relationship Street".

Yes, I'm sure you will be disappointed to know that many men, who you genetically superior women have rightfully diagnosed as being genetically inferior and deficient, share my views!

Maybe with significant DNA modifications to remove we men's genetic glitches, or just a cranial emotional transplant, the tooth fairy really can come to life.

I always welcome women's views, especially yours.

Regards,

The Street Doctor

Dear Street Doctor,

Thank you again for allowing my thoughts on your website. My views, too, have been learned from experience, however, different experience from yours perhaps. You see, I HAVE been in love before, I know how great it can be...and I still believe in the tooth fairy. Above all, I still have faith in God that HE meant for man and woman to share a loving life together here on earth in loving relationships. It takes a lot of work, and all those other acts mentioned in my previous e-mail, to make it a happy relationship. Those couples in these relationships are truly blessed.

As always,

Sophie Goldberg, G.S.W.

P.S.
Street Doctor, G.I.&D.M.,
You're so witty!
