PRESS RELEASE - New Breakthrough Technology to Paint Digital Paintings Like Monet Might Have Painted

August 10, 2004  New York, NY USA: The Monet Institute of Digital Painting (MIDP), in conjunction with Digital Imaging Recognition, Restoration and Enhancement Research (DIRRER), announced today that they have achieved breakthrough technology enabling a user to easily and quickly digitally paint from any image a painting like the famous French artist, Claude Monet, might have painted in his Impressionist style. No artistic talent is required.

This new technology could be used teaching both artists and non-artists, especially teaching handicapped people to paint.

The first public exhibition of Monet-like paintings using this new technology has just opened at the Monet Today Gallery. Click here to see these digital paintings in Monet Impressionist style at the Monet Today Gallery.

MIDP brings science, technology and art together to produce digital paintings like Monet might have painted in his Impressionist style.

DIRRER specializes in imaging recognition, restoration and enhancement research.

DIRRER was the first to positively identify one of the World Trade Center victims by enhancing small, unclear photos before and during falling from the WTC. DIRRER has also helped the FBI and Florida law enforcement agencies identify the abductor and killer of Carlie Brucia.
